This foundational course demystifies three interconnected pillars of data analysis and statistical modeling: DispersionCurve Fitting, and the Principle of Least Squares.
Starting with dispersion, you will learn how to quantify the spread and variability of data—moving beyond simple averages to understand standard deviation, variance, and range. You will then transition into curve fitting, exploring how to model observed relationships between variables using linear, polynomial, and nonlinear functions.
At the heart of the course lies the Principle of Least Squares—the mathematical engine that powers regression analysis. You will discover how this principle minimizes errors, finds the "line of best fit," and serves as the foundation for predictive modeling.
